Argentina – 17 days

Day 1 arrival in Buenos Aires – Pampas

Upon arrival in Argentina, you will be met by our local representative for transfers to the countryside and your estancia. Here you take part in hundred-year-old traditions and see how real Argentine cowboys “Gauchos” live. For dinner, “asado” traditional barbeque is served along with some of the best domestic wines.

Day 2 Pampas

This classic estancia is now open to guests and offers the opportunity to experience the real Pampas. Here they have managed the tradition and preserved the proud gaucho culture. Anyone who wishes can ride with gauchos out among herds of cattle or why not just sit back and enjoy the surroundings with a rich glass of wine.

Day 3 Pampas – Mendoza

After breakfast you will be picked up for transfer to the airport and further journey to Mendoza at the foot of the mighty Andes. On arrival you will be met by our local guide for transport to your hotel located about 45 minutes outside the city.

Day 4 Mendoza

Today will be a gourmet day by bike in the Ucodalen. Mendoza is the capital of wine production in Argentina and South America. Not only fantastic wines are offered here, but also a landscape that shows an incredible diversity with everything from desert-like steppe to flourishing agricultural landscapes. Here in the mighty Andes you will also find the hot springs, the
so-called Inca Bridge and the highest peak in the hemisphere and America, Aconcagua, 6,960 m above sea level. In the middle of the day you meet up with the local chef Saniago Orozco for a cooking class followed by lunch accompanied by local wines.

Day 5 Mendoza – Ushuaia

Early transfer to the airport for travel via Buenos Aires to the Land of Fire. Upon arrival in Ushuaia, you will be met for a transfer to your hotel. The evening on its own.

Day 6 Land of Fire

Today you spend the whole day with your guide in Tierra del Fuego National Park. After a short car journey, you begin your trek through the magnificent landscape. After a few hours of hiking, you arrive at Lago Roca where you are served lunch. After some good food and a moment of relaxation, it’s time for a safety review before you set off on a canoe trip across Lapataia Bay to finally meet up with your car again which will take you back to your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 7 Land of Fire

Today you visit almost uninhabited parts of Eldslandet. This is a trip for those who come to Ushuaia in search of the “end of the world”. Together with your guide, you leave Ushuaia by car for a trip east. Once at Harberton Ranch, a short visit to the Marine Mammal Museum “Acatushún” is recommended. It was here that the first colonizers of the Land of Fire settled. By motorboat, you continue out on the Beagle Channel, past Martillo Island with its penguin colonies, to one of the highlights of the day, Gable Island. The beach cut on the island begins with lunch. In the afternoon you continue on
foot with your guide hiking over this wonderful island, past a beaver pond and through the forest to finally reach the Beagle Channel again where the boat is waiting for return to Puerto Harberton and drive back to your hotel.

Day 8 Ushuaia – Calafate

At lunch you will be picked up for a transfer to the airport and further travel to the “glacier capital” El Calafate. On arrival you will be met by our guide for transfer to your hotel. During the evening there is time to explore the city on your own.

16 January Calafate – Perito Moreno – Helsinki Lodge
After breakfast you will be picked up for a trip to Los Glaciares National Park and the mighty Perito Moreno Glacier. Your trained nature guide guides you through the unique flora and fauna of the area. On what is called the glaciers’ balcony, you stop to see the fantastic spectacle as the glacier calves off with a deafening roar. After lunch you continue to your lodge where you arrive in the afternoon. During the rest of the day you take it easy to get to know the surroundings. During the evening you will meet your guides and together plan the next day’s activities.

Day 9 Calafate – Perito Moreno – Helsinki Lodge

After breakfast you will be picked up for a trip to Los Glaciares National Park and the mighty Perito Moreno Glacier. Day 10 – 11 Helsinki Lodge

During your days in Los Glacierese there are a variety of activities to choose from. Every day, eight to ten different tours are offered that are adapted to the weather, the guests’ wishes, length and degree of difficulty. Hiking, horseback riding or cycling, together with your guides you explore the park’s nature and history.

Day 12 Helsinki Lodge – Calafate

After lunch, it’s time to return to El Calafate. On arrival you will be met by our guide for transfer to your hotel. During the evening there is time to explore the city on your own.

Day 13 Calafate – Buenos Aires

After an early breakfast you will be picked up for a transfer to the airport and further travel to Buenos Aires where you will be met for a transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is important for a course in Argentina’s national dance, tango. The school belongs to one of the most reputable dance palaces with the best masters at teaching tango. They introduce you to the steps and help to find the rhythm in this fiery dance. When the lesson is over, there is the opportunity to visit the famous restaurant Los Inmortales for a bite to eat, then it is free to find something Buenos Aires many dance venues to practice your new skills.

Day 14 Buenos Aires

In the morning you do a city tour on foot and by bike with a guide. You visit, among other things. a. Palermo’s beautiful parks in the northern parts of the city, the impressive Colón Theater one of the world’s most prestigious opera houses, you see the very different architecture used to build the National Congress and “the Cabilde” (the old town hall) In San Telmo you visit the picturesque neighborhoods where the Italian immigrants settled. The afternoon is free.

Day 15 Buenos Aires

The day on its own. In the evening you will be picked up at your hotel for a Tango show at Gala Tango including dinner
